WordPress 4.0 is out

So WordPress 4.0 was released last week. It’s not a big milestone, the team basically just incremented the version number from 3.9.

I’ve been running it on Sixgun Productions for a few days now and I can’t say that I’ve noticed much difference to the previous version — as one would expect from that release announcement. The media gallery displays items in a new, “endless” scrolling grid and there’s an easier way to embed YouTube videos and such in the editor, but that’s about it. Oh yeah, and the editor now dynamically expands to take up more of your browser window, which I actually find quite annoying.

While 4.0 is just another number for us after 3.9 and before 4.1, we feel we’ve put a little extra polish into it. This release brings you a smoother writing and management experience we think you’ll enjoy.
